Martin Dimunah
Martin Dimunah is the Chairman of the Mbaitoli Association of New England {North Americas} Inc. He is a native of Uba Ifakala, in Mbaitoli Local Government of Imo State. He attended St Jude’s Commercial School, Owerri. Through self study through Exam Success Correspondence College, Yaba, .Martin gained admission to pursue his degree in the United States and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Philander Smith College, Little Rock; a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Arkansas and a Master of Science degree from Texas A& M University.
Martin has been an Accountant with the Bureau of Accounts within the Massachusetts Department of Revenue since 1998. He assists in supervision, monitoring and aiding in the financial management and accounting practices of 24 communities in the Commonwealth. “This position gives me an opportunity to visit various cities and towns, meet their officials and appreciate their unique ways of handling budgetary and revenue related issues. It also gives me the chance to assist and explain their tax rate certification process, Free Cash calculation from their Balance Sheet and fiscal management”. Martin previously worked as an Analyst and Senior Account Controller at Fidelity Investments and State Street Bank Corporation respectively. His hobby includes sports, computer graphic designs, photography. Martin has a passion for real estate and followed it. He is the Principal Realtor/Broker of Advantage Realty, Boston. Martin believes that “if you appreciate goods things, good things will come to you.”
Martin has served in the executive council of various Nigerian/Igbo communities in the Boston such as the Igbo Organization of New England Inc. – an affiliate of World Igbo Congress, Nigerian Catholic Community, Boston, IKEMBA Boston USA and Owerri Provincial Union, Dallas Texas, Peoples’ Club of Nigeria International Boston Branch etc.
Martin is also a volunteer Head Coach at Hyde Park Soccer for Kids where he teaches children 5-13 years old on how to play soccer, one of the games that he enjoys. He is married to Obidiya Dimunah, daughter of Eze Ben E. Obi, Igwe of Ubulu Ihejiofor, Orlu. We have four children – Uchenna, ObiDady, Chuka and Chimdi.
